SOFEPADI (Female Solidarity for Integrated Peace and Development)

Solidarité féminine pour la paix et le développement intégral (SOFEPADI) is a Congolese organization founded by 24 women, in April 2000, to promote women’s rights and to campaign for an end to sexual violence in the DRC. SOFEPADI works in regions of the country that have been affected by high levels of armed conflict, such as Ituri and North Kivu. Its programs focus on rehabilitation and reintegration of sexual violence survivors, and the provision of psychological services and job training programs. SOFEPADI also strives to increase the number of Congolese women in politics and to train women in conflict resolution and mediation skills.
